Terms of Service
Last updated: May 10, 2026
1. Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Oculon Systems's services, including the Iris AI intake agent ("Service"), operated by Oculon Systems ("we," "us," or "our"). By subscribing to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Oculon Systems provides a real-time AI-powered intake agent ("Iris") that is embedded into your law firm's website. Iris engages website visitors, asks qualifying questions, and captures contact details, which are then delivered to you. Lead details (such as visitor name, contact information, and case description) are delivered to you and are not stored by Oculon Systems. Conversation transcripts are stored anonymously and in encrypted form — no names, email addresses, or personally identifiable information are retained in storage. Anonymous conversation data is used solely to improve the quality and reliability of the Service.
3. Eligibility
The Service is intended for law firms and legal professionals. By subscribing, you confirm that you are authorized to enter into this agreement on behalf of your firm and that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Oculon Systems operates on a subscription basis. Billing is processed through our payment provider at the frequency specified at sign-up (monthly or annual). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing cycle. All fees are non-refundable except as described in our Refund Policy. You are responsible for keeping your billing information up to date.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use the Service to collect data in violation of applicable privacy laws, misrepresent the nature of Iris to your website visitors, interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure, or attempt to reverse-engineer or extract proprietary components of the Service.
6. No Legal Advice
Iris is an AI-powered intake tool, not a licensed attorney. Nothing generated or communicated by Iris constitutes legal advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing any information captured by Iris and for any communications or legal decisions made thereafter. Oculon Systems is not liable for any reliance placed on AI-generated output by you or your clients.
7. Data and Privacy
Oculon Systems processes visitor information in real time to facilitate lead qualification and delivery. Lead details are delivered to you and are not retained by Oculon Systems. Conversation transcripts are stored in encrypted form with all personally identifiable information stripped — no names, contact details, or case-identifying data are retained. This anonymous data is used solely to improve the Service. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with applicable data protection laws, including informing your website visitors about the presence of an AI agent. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details.
8. Intellectual Property
All aspects of the Oculon Systems platform, including the Iris agent, interface, and underlying technology, are owned by Oculon Systems and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during the subscription term. You retain ownership of any content or data you provide to configure the Service.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Iris will qualify leads to your specific satisfaction. AI-generated output may occasionally be inaccurate, and you are responsible for verifying any information before acting on it.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oculon Systems shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost revenue, missed leads, or client dissatisfaction. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time through our support channel. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably determine to be harmful to Oculon Systems, other users, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
12. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Oculon Systems is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation where possible.
